Kevalya Residence

Vadodara

Kevalya

Kevalya is designed for a couple who wanted a residence with modern outlook yet connected to their roots. The stone used in the exterior makes a bold statement as well as highlights the entire façade; all this while keeping the language of minimalism intact. As we move into the interiors, one is welcomed into a naturally lit space. The entire furniture palette consist of warm toned materials, giving it a cozy feeling.

The foyer leads us to the living and family area which is highlighted by a central cut-out and skylight above. On the first floor the central cut-out serves as an interconnecting bridge made out of glass with metal structure allowing the light to trespass beyond. It also traces the essence of bhramasthan with inflow of energy such as air and generous sunlight.

The balcony portrays the desire to form a vista to the landscape in coordination to the play of light by the semi-covered pergolas. The dining area placed at the centre, interconnects the living, family and kitchen area. Deliberate repetition of inclined lines pattern on the wall, the form of the staircase and also a highlighting part of the furniture gives out the sense of continuity. The design of the living room revolves around hand-crafted wooden oak furniture in contrast to the bold couches, variety of textured fabric and multiple tones of colour, which collectively blends to enrich the essence of a living space.
