Art as a driving force for designing homes came into its own with this residential project in Vadodara. Homeowners, being avid travellers wanted their new home to be memorabilia of all those places they’ve travelled to over the years. The massive collection of art and artefacts they collected on the way became the sun around which the design revolved. Also, the fact that they wanted to reuse most of the furniture from their previous place made this project all the more exciting and challenging.

The apartment acts as an exhibition space, pairing the refurbished pieces with contemporary design. The pairing of old and new creates a truly unique experience. Whether it was a sculpture, book or an art collection, the pieces were carefully chosen and curated so that these pieces that one is going to experience would add to, and not overwhelm the space as too much of artefacts can make a room feel dowdy and dated.
