Conceptually it was decided to go for a neutral and grey palette and highlight spaces with handcrafted furniture and pops of colour. Activities such as the family sitting area, dining, kitchen, staircase, and puja room revolve around an open plan layout, connecting each space visually.

We decided to combine staircase & family sitting by raising the level and finishing the space with wood. It was divided by a metal and wood screen giving each space privacy, yet visually connecting the spaces due to the porosity of the screen. The dining space connected with the outdoors through a large window which brought in an abundance of natural light and fresh air creating a vibrant part of the house. The double- height above the dining area was enhanced by a long customized metal chandelier weighing 150 kg that was visible from both floors. The ceiling and floor space around the chandelier were highlighted with mosaic patterns.

Puja room was designed with a double-height space with interesting metal and wood shutters and the walls were finished with carved scriptures. For one of the bedrooms, we wished to create a bigger volume by bringing down the dividing wall between the toilet and the bedroom & replacing it with a glass partition. The room was made lively by adding pops of colour and patterns through the soft furnishing. A home theatre was designed by a striking blend of textures and tones which sets the ambiance of the whole space. The wall art and the furniture pieces were meticulously handcrafted by our in-house artisans.
